What are protein meals?

Protein meals are complete portions in a sachet: tip in the powder, pour over boiling water, let it soak — done. No pot, no washing up, no prep the night before. Protein Milchreis (rice pudding), Protein Porridge and Protein Grießpudding (semolina pudding, also known as Grießbrei) deliver between 26 and 34 g of protein per serving at 202 to 230 kcal.

The porridge is made with gluten-free wholegrain oats and brings 4.3 g of fibre per serving. Rice pudding and semolina pudding contain wheat and are therefore not gluten-free. All three come without added sugar and contain lactase, which splits the milk sugar.

No added sugar — contains naturally occurring sugars.

Protein meals for breakfast, the office and the road: Protein Milchreis (rice pudding), Protein Porridge and Protein Grießpudding (semolina pudding) come as single-serve sachets. Add hot water, whisk, let it soak — done, no pan needed. Depending on the variety, 26 to 34 g of protein at 202 to 230 kcal per serving, all with no added sugar (contains naturally occurring sugars).

Protein meals: hot water, a quick stir, done

Protein meals are single-serve sachets of powder that turn into a warm, spoonable dish in minutes — no pot, no hob, no washing up. All you need is boiling water, a bowl and a whisk. Every sachet is a pre-measured portion with 26 to 34 g of protein at 202 to 230 kcal, with no added sugar — contains naturally occurring sugars. At Flavour Heaven there are three varieties: Protein Milchreis (rice pudding), Protein Porridge (protein oatmeal) and Protein Grießpudding (semolina pudding).

Rice pudding, porridge or semolina — the three compared

All three are prepared the same way, but differ in texture, nutrition and soaking time:

VarietyProteinCaloriesPreparation
Protein Milchreis (65 g)26 g230 kcal10–15 min
Protein Porridge (62 g)31 g215 kcal5 min
Protein Grießpudding (60 g)34 g202 kcal5 min

Per sachet; preparation time = covered soaking time after adding boiling water.

The Grießpudding is the highest in protein at 34 g and the lightest at 202 kcal; it contains 25 % durum wheat semolina, so gluten, and is sweetened with sucralose — against a conventional, sugar-sweetened semolina pudding, around 85 % less sugar and 90 % less fat. The Porridge is the only one made with gluten-free wholegrain oats and delivers the most fibre at 4.3 g — from glucomannan from the konjac root, psyllium husk and soluble corn fibre. The Milchreis comes closest to the childhood classic: 35 % konjac rice and 13 % rice semolina make the texture, and against a conventional, sugar-sweetened rice pudding, around 60 % fewer carbohydrates and 90 % less sugar; its flavouring contains wheat, so it is not gluten-free. All three are based on milk protein concentrate and contain lactase.

Who they are for

For anyone with no time to cook in the morning, who wants something warm at the office, or who wants a warm, protein-rich portion late in the evening. Protein contributes to the maintenance of muscle mass, and all three varieties are high in protein. The German Nutrition Society recommends keeping free sugars clearly limited — these sachets contain no added sugar. They are not meal replacements in the legal sense, but a protein-rich meal or snack.

The Milchreis provides 1.32 g of glucomannan per portion, Porridge and Grießpudding 1.0 g each. Glucomannan contributes to weight loss in the context of an energy-restricted diet. The beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 3 g of glucomannan in three doses of 1 g each, together with 1–2 glasses of water, before meals and in the context of an energy-restricted diet.

How to make it yours

The amount of water and the soaking time decide whether it turns out creamy or firm. If you like it sweeter, stir in around 2 g of Chunky Flavour (roughly three quarters of a scoop) — that changes the stated nutrition values. Fresh berries, cinnamon or a spoonful of nut butter work too. An unsweetened plant drink replaces the water, and the Porridge can be soaked cold overnight.

Storing your sachets properly

Buy sachets by the ten-pack and they end up all over the kitchen. Our Sachet Boxes are 3D-printed by us and cut exactly to single-serve sachets — closed or open-fronted, so you pull out the next one in a single move. Stored dry, cool and away from sunlight, the powder stays free-flowing until its best-before date.
